Abstract

Background : Vaccination against Human PapillomaVirus is quite low in France (around 30%). The aim of this study is to test the effect of implementation intention to improve HPV vaccination with young girls. Method : In a randomized control trial, participants will be allocated to a control group, or to an implementation intention group. Knowledge about HPV and intention about vaccination will be measured with self-report questionnaires. The students in first year at university of Grenoble, Metz, Clermont and Lyon (France) will participate to this study. We should have 200 participants by group, and we will measure the behavior of vaccination one month after implementation intention. Expected results : We expect the participants in the implementation intention group will have significantly higher rate of HPV vaccination than participants in the control group. Current stage of work : We have all the material ready and we are currently at the recruitment phase. Discussion : Showing the effectiveness of implementation intention to improve HPV vaccination may be an easy way to increase the rate of vaccination for young girls.
