Abstract
Some features of food allergies may worsen the quality of life (QoL) of
the patients and their parents and can have a negative influence at the physical, social and
psychological level (Cummings et al., 2010; Sicherer et al., 2001). The study aims to identify
the resources of parental resilience that promote parental well-being and QoL of patients and
their parents. In this longitudinal study, parents of children undergoing Specific Oral
Tolerance Induction fill out a questionnaire that explores the resources of parental
resilience, psychological well-being of the parents and the QoL of the parent and the child.
The data will be analyzed at both cross-sectional and longitudinal level; in both cases
generalized linear models will be used. It’s assumed that a higher level of resources of
parental resilience predicts a greater psychological well-being of parents and a better QoL of
both parents and patients. Today the research is on the stage of data collection. The
identification of the resources of parental resilience in this field, could provide the basis
for the creation of well-being promotion paths in this population.
