Health Psychology has been recognized as a specialization in Brazil (Resolução CFP 003/2016) since 2016. A few universities in the country offer a Health Psychology specialization or Master's degree. Interest in Health Psychology is growing. Textbooks and papers locally and internationally are published regularly; A few journals edited in the country have a section in health Psychology (e.g., https://prc.springeropen.com/articles/sections/health-psychology). Health Psychology is also becoming popular in undergraduate courses (Psychology). Health psychology research groups have been established. Doctoral dissertations in the field are also increasing. In Brazil, psychologists have been integrated into the National Health System and Primary Care settings since 1950, focusing mainly on clinical psychology services and mental health. There has been a national association on Health Psychology since 2006 called "ABPSA - Associação Brasileira de Psicologia da Saúde" https://abpsa.org.br/ which promotes a national conference every two years.

Furthermore, many Brazilian Health Psychologists attend the Portuguese National Conference in Health Psychology organized by the Sociedade Portuguesa de Psicologia da Saúde (SPPS) in Portugal.

A few universities in the country offer a Health Psychology specialization or Master's degree. E.g., Master Program in Health Psychology, UFSM (public university); Master Program in Health Psychology, FPS (private university); Master Program in Psychology and Health, UFCSPA (public university); Master and Doctorate Program in Health Psychology, Universidade Metodista de São Paulo (private university). Many other postgraduate courses in Psychology in Brazil (Masters and Doctorate level), although not mainly focusing on HP, develop research and professional training in the field of health and psychology.
